Here’s an extra from American Cheerleader Magazine about Ashley Tisdale. Read below…

Butterflies fluttered around in my stomach as I recognized the number on my caller ID. “Hi! This is Ashley Tisdale,” a peppy yet friendly voice announced across the line
after I answered. When I mentioned to the actress that this was the third time I’ve interviewed her for AC, she answered with a chuckle, “I know! It’s so cool!” Funny, because that’s exactly how I’d describe Ashley. She’s just so cool.
After talking to her for just a few minutes (she was in Toronto, Canada, at the time of our interview, filming the High School Musical spin-off movie Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure), you can’t help but feel like you know her—like really know her. And why not? Her fans have practically watched her grow up on TV.As a young actress, Ashley got her first big break—and a little taste of her fabulous life to come—on the Disney Channel hit “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.” Later, she moved on to high school, spending her adolescent acting period filming the ridiculously successful High School Musical franchise. Now, Ashley’s graduated from her teenage years and is heading off to college—The CW University to be exact.
On the new show, “Hellcats,” Ashley plays Savannah, the tough-as-nails captain of her college cheer squad. The role isn’t a stretch for the New Jersey native: She’s a former Pop Warner cheerleader herself. “I was really shy when I was younger and cheerleading helped me come out of my shell,” says Ashley. At the age of 8, she became a Spartan cheerleader in Ocean Township, NJ, and wore her uniform proudly.

BURBANK, CA (September 3, 2010) – On September 4, The CW Network plans to turn Frisco Memorial Stadium in Frisco, TX into Cheerleader Headquarters in advance of the premiere of its new fall series HELLCATS, beginning September 8th and starring Aly Michalka (“Bandslam”) and Ashley Tisdale (“High School Musical”). Below you can read a new interview from TV Fanatic about Heather Hemmens. She talks about Hellcats, her character and more.
Tell us about Hellcats.
It’s a story about cheerleaders, but it’s more a story about characters’ inside lives. It starts with Marti [Aly Michalka]. She’s trying to keep her scholarship at school, so she joins the cheerleading squad and therefore takes my characters spot on the team and her spot in life. She starts catching the eye of my characters ex-boyfriend. There’s a big competitive streak with Alice and Marti that kicks the story off.Talk about your character.
Alice is the mean girl. She gets sidelined with an injury and she is the most competitive, fierce, and ballsy character. When things aren’t going her way, she goes on a power trip to get thing righted for her. She was on top of the world and her injury was the toppling of the block. What has it been like working with the cast?
They’re so great. It sounds cliché, but they’re my new family. We support each other. We have a great time. We have these weird inside jokes and are always playing tricks on each other by talking about someone to see if they’re paying attention.
More interviews have been released: this time Ashley Tisdale (Savannah Monroe) and Sharon Leal (Vanessa Hodge). Watch them below.
Added to the gallery some photos from the set of Hellcats on September 1st. Check them out!
